SDG 10. Reduced Inequalities

Satbayev University implements SDG 10 through inclusive education, equal access, non-discrimination, and support for diversity. These principles are enshrined in the work of the Project Office for Support and Accompaniment of Inclusive Education. The university develops a barrier-free environment, adapts the educational process for students with special needs, and provides social, psychological, and pedagogical support, thereby reducing inequality in access to quality education.

Sustainable environment

A sustainable environment at Satbayev University includes not only physical accessibility but also a support system for participation. The university was one of the first to join the state grant program for students with special needs, opened a center for support and accompaniment of inclusive education, helps teachers improve their qualifications to work with students with special needs, and provides students with online learning opportunities, sign language interpretation services, and access to printing educational materials in Braille. This shows that reducing inequality is viewed as a comprehensive task — from admission to daily learning.
Additionally, the sustainability of such an environment is strengthened through social, psychological, and academic support, which are enshrined in the university's academic policy. It explicitly provides for educational, social, and psychological support for students, as well as the development of equal access to educational resources and opportunities. More broadly, this allows Satbayev University to build a campus where inclusion, respect for diversity, and non-discrimination become part of daily university practice.

Research

The university views reducing inequality not only as a social mission but also as a direction of scientific and project activity. At the institutional level, this is manifested through the work of the Inclusive Education Center, which directly deals with the development and implementation of scientific projects related to inclusive education, barrier-free environments, and support for people with special needs.

Satbayev University implements SDG 10 in education through the development of inclusive and accessible learning. The university enshrines the right to quality education in its academic policy, supports students with special educational needs, provides them with social, psychological, and pedagogical support, and develops real educational pathways across various programs. This approach helps reduce barriers and expand access to higher education for different groups of students.
An important part of Satbayev University's educational contribution to SDG 10 is also the fact that the university already provides the opportunity for students with special educational needs to study in a number of educational programs, including design, mathematical economics and data analysis, business engineering, Startup Bachelor's degree, computer science, mathematical and computer modeling, information security, and information systems. This shows that the principle of equal access applies not to individual initiatives but to real educational pathways within the university.
